USA Test DriveTransglobal Car Expedition USA Test Drive 2023 has been a tremendous success!
The goal of the USA Overland test was to shake down the four Arctic Trucks-prepared Ford Expeditions and AT44 F-150 that will complete the tens of thousands of miles of the non-Polar sections of the 2024 expedition. So, Arctic Trucks have been extremely robust and reliable.
On that test drive, we practiced important skills such as communication, сonvoy procedure, long trips, off-highway driving, and various emergency scenarios.
We’ve gone through four national parks, through lots of off-roads, and have waded up above the running boards across the water. The team also worked on safety and communication protocols and logistics for the daily organization of the vehicles and route management. The team for this USA Overland test drive has included most of the main team members and several of the support team. This has been a major team building for us. That was essential while preparing for the 17 months and 50,000 kilometers of the main Expedition.

Brand new AT 44 6x6
The vehicle has been designed in Iceland by Arctic Trucks' engineers, then built under supervision at new associate facilities in Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA.
The base vehicle is a Ford F350 twin cab chassis with a high-strength fully boxed steel frame. A 6.7 liter V8 diesel produces 475HP @ 2600 rpm with 1,424 nm torque @ 1,600 rpm. Transmission is an automatic 10 speed unit with extra crawler gear.
The Arctic Trucks "AT 44" 6x6 conversion includes (amongst much more): extensive chassis modifications with 70cm extension, drive line changes, an additional axle, long travel rear air suspension, 10cm extra suspension travel, high performance shock absorbers, air lockers, wheel arch extensions to accommodate 44 inch tires, main tank fuel capacity increase to 550 liters, front and rear polar pumper internal tire inflation units and an additional auxiliary electric system.
The newly developed vehicle is the distillation of well over 350,000 kilometres of successful polar travel by Arctic Trucks' vehicles, including the AT44 6x6 HiLux, in Antarctica alone. (Arctic Trucks have also gained extensive experience through operations in Canada, Greenland and Iceland). This overland test drive to the Canadian High Arctic will see even greater improvements to critical factors such as shock setup, tire pressure settings and endurance in different conditions.
To improve range efficiency, the vehicle has the capability to tow over 5000 extra liters of fuel in bladders securely mounted on a flexible plastic sledge. Each fuel bladder is sealed and built to minimise any risk of fuel spillage and includes internal fuel pumps which enable efficient, clean, liquid transfer to the towing vehicle's main tank.

Yemelya special mobile unit
The Yemelya Truck series was created by engineer Vasily Elagin. It was used to carry out the Sea Ice Automobile Expedition in 2008 and 2009 as well as Round-the-World trip in 2011-2015.
It's newest Transglobal Car Expedition version remains an amphibious vehicle with enhanced designs to move through swamps, tundra and other difficult types of landscapes. The Arctic Ocean basin was chosen as the most suitable "terrain" for conducting general tests and demonstrate its incredible capabilities - a harsh climate coupled with high humidity, hummocks, vast fields of young nilas ice, numerous gaps and cracks, salty ocean water.
Compliance with environmental requirements is ensured by the use of ultra-low pressure tires, especially special shell tires with an operating pressure of only 0.05 atm. The Truck, with its own weight of 1450 kg, is capable of towing a caravan of three trailers with a payload mass of more than 2.5 tons in difficult off-road conditions. High all-terrain qualities, simplicity and reliability of the design, large interior space make it possible to use the vehicles as mobile laboratories, patrol cars of border guards, other units of law enforcement agencies in the Arctic and the Far North, as well as to perform a wide variety of tasks in the national economy.

Автомобиль серии «Емеля» был создан инженером Василием Елагиным. Использовался для выполнения Морской ледовой автомобильной экспедиции, проходившей в 2008 году и 2009 году. А также кругосветке 2011-2015 годов. Было создано 6 модификаций.
Вездеход «Емеля», это автомобиль-амфибия, предназначенный для передвижения по болотам, тундре и другим труднопроходимым типам ландшафтов. В качестве наиболее подходящей «местности» для проведения генеральных испытаний вездехода и демонстрации его невероятных возможностей был выбран бассейн Северного Ледовитого океана - суровый климат вкупе с высокой влажностью, торосы, обширные поля молодого льда-ниласа, многочисленные разрывы и трещины, солёная океанская вода. Соблюдение требований по экологичности обеспечивает применение шин сверхнизкого давления, в особенности специальные шины-оболочки, рабочее давление в которых всего 0,05 атм. Автомобиль при собственной массе 1450 кг способен в условиях тяжёлого бездорожья буксировать караван из трёх прицепов с массой полезной груза более 2,5 тн.
Высокие вездеходные качества, простота и надёжность конструкции, большое внутреннее пространство позволяют использовать наши машины в качестве передвижных лабораторий, патрульных автомобилей пограничников, других подразделений силовых структур в Арктике и на Крайнем Севере, а также для выполнения самых разнообразных задач в народном хозяйстве.
