On Days 39-40 we were honored to be invited to the Elders Palace in Cambridge Bay, where we had lunch, tried to learn more words in Inuinnaqtun (which led to many laughs), and played Qiliirlagu on the floor with the Elders (some over 90 years old).
We have a special relationship with Cambridge Bay elder Bessie Omilgoetok and her family. We first met two years ago on our preparation expedition, and she honored our team member Andrew and was very interested to see how far we were going on the expedition.
