Diary

March 25–28, 2024

We’re at 86.5N 390km to the North Pole. We’re now beyond all commercial maps (and normal ice satellite also) although we are working to get new satellite imagery.

Going was hard at the start of the day but the team did what it does best: found the narrowest gaps between moving sheets of ice and bridged them with ladders to keep us moving North. Fairly warm temperatures and lower winds made today more pleasant to work outside in, but with warmth comes ice breakup and we know we’re on a tight schedule now to get over the Pole and to Greenland.
