September 9th found us on the road to the city of Beni Melal. The road went through the desert, but we discovered some lovely towns that made us feel good. We stopped at a waterfall and enjoyed the local sights. As we reached our destination for the day, we climbed a pass that was 1300 meters high, where we saw a breathtaking view.
On September 10th, we returned to the ocean shore. We drove for a few hours through the desert and then enjoyed a walk in the windy city of Essaouira. This charming medieval town is located on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, about 200 km from Agadir and Marrakech. Essaouira is the third largest fishing port in Morocco and is important for the local economy.
