Diary

June 26-28, 2024

On Days 167-168 we covered 382 km. We’re in Croatia now, discovering landscapes of coastal cities. This country is known for its stunning coastline along the Adriatic Sea, with over a thousand islands. We spent those days near Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, which is known for its Austro-Hungarian architecture, vibrant street art scene, and cultural attractions.

On Day 169, we had a short visit to Trogir, whose central part is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterward, we went to Split, where we met the wonderful guide Mirjana Svagusha. She showed us around the old city and a secret place called “Urban Utopia,” where we explored unique stories and atmospheres off the beaten path. This district was recognized as one of the best urban projects worldwide, earning a place in the MoMa in New York in the “The Concrete Utopia: Architecture in Yugoslavia” exhibition.
